🚪The Gym of questions
Fly to Hearthome City: the Gym is open. Each room poses a question on a sign; the right answer shows which door to take. A wrong door leads to a trainer. The trainers line up Gastly, Haunter, Misdreavus and Drifloon, from level 26 to 32.

Normal and Fighting moves don’t affect Ghost types. Check your team’s moves before going in: a Staraptor with only Normal moves, or a Machoke, would be useless.
Drifblim (Ghost and Flying) fears Electric, Ice, Rock, Ghost and Dark. Watch out for Minimize, which raises its evasiveness.
Gengar is the fastest. A Psychic, Ground, Ghost or Dark move brings it down quickly; a Gabite with Earthquake is ideal.
Mismagius, level 36, holds a Sitrus Berry and alternates between Confuse Ray, Psybeam and Shadow Ball. Hit hard with Dark or Ghost moves; a Steel Pokémon resists its attacks.
Fantina gives you the Relic Badge, which at last lets you use Surf outside battle, and TM65 Shadow Claw, a physical Ghost move that often lands critical hits.
🌊The seas of Sinnoh open up
With Surf, a large part of the region becomes accessible: the items by the water that you left behind (Ravaged Path, Valley Windworks, Floaroma Meadow), deep-sea fishing and, soon, the southern waterways. Your next destination is west of Jubilife City, across the sea: Route 218 and Canalave City.
