The Distortion World is the flip side of our world: a space where gravity changes direction with every step, where you walk on walls and surf through the void. It is Giratina’s domain, and the heart of Pokémon Platinum.
Playing Diamond or Pearl? The Distortion World exists only in Platinum. In your version, Giratina awaits you in Turnback Cave after the League (see the legendary Pokémon guide). Move on to Route 222 and Sunyshore City.

🌀An upside-down world
You arrive with Cynthia on floating platforms. Here, the usual rules no longer apply: by stepping on certain signs on the ground, you tip onto a vertical wall, or even upside down. Elevator platforms take you up or down a level, and some paths only appear as you move forward. Save often.
Your goal: reach the three lake guardians, which float above three holes, and push a boulder into each hole with Strength. Each boulder is in a different part of the world: one even forces you to surf through the void and climb a waterfall that flows backward.
🌌The final battle against Cyrus
Cyrus is waiting for you at the end of the new platform. He refuses to admit his failure and challenges you one last time, with his strongest team.

Weavile, his ace: Fighting (four times effective), Fire, Rock, Steel or Bug. Beware of Fake Out, which makes you flinch on its first turn.

Beyond, a series of small platforms leads to Giratina, in its Origin Forme, at level 47. Save before starting the battle. Giratina is Ghost and Dragon: it fears Dragon, Ice, Ghost and Dark moves, which you should avoid if you want to catch it without knocking it out.

With calm restored, Giratina returns to its world. Cyrus, for his part, refuses to leave the Distortion World. Cynthia takes you back to the real world: you exit through Turnback Cave, near the spring, in the north of Route 214.
Fly to Sandgem Town: Professor Rowan wants to see you. Then head east: Route 222 and Sunyshore City.
