🏔️Snowpoint City
A small port town with not much besides a Pokémon Center, a Poké Mart and the Gym. Stock up on Ice Heals and healing items. A resident trades her Haunter for a Medicham. Careful: it holds an Everstone, which stops it from evolving. Take it off before trading it again with a friend, otherwise it will never become Gengar.

⛸️Candice’s Gym
The Gym floor is an ice rink: you slide until you hit the next obstacle. Big snowballs block some passages; run into them to break them. Six Ace Trainers are waiting for you, with Pokémon from level 35 to 39 that are not all Ice types: Tentacruel, Steelix, Quagsire, Golduck.

Fire, Fighting, Rock and Steel hurt almost her entire team. Infernape, Lucario, Empoleon, Rapidash or Magnezone are perfect.
Abomasnow, Grass and Ice, fears Fire four times over. Be careful: its Snow Warning Ability summons hail, which hurts your Pokémon every turn.
Sneasel is very fast but fragile: a Fighting move almost always knocks it out in one hit.
In Diamond and Pearl, Medicham knows Force Palm, a Fighting move that is dangerous for your Steel Pokémon. In Platinum, Froslass (Ice and Ghost) brings up the rear: Normal and Fighting moves can’t touch it, so favor Fire, Rock, Ghost or Dark.
Candice gives you the Icicle Badge, which lets you use Rock Climb outside battle, and TM72 Avalanche, an Ice move that doubles in power if its user was hit before acting.
With Rock Climb, the way to Lake Acuity is open: Lake Acuity.
