🕸️The spider web
Stand in the middle of the room and press A: a cable lowers you to the basement, onto a giant web. You can only walk on the threads that are thick enough. Follow the water drops: they lead to Viola while avoiding two of the three Trainers. Still, it’s better to battle them all for the experience.

Surskit (Bug and Water) isn’t dangerous, but its Water Sport weakens Fire-type moves for several turns: with a Fire-type Pokémon, knock it out fast, or hit it with an Electric or Flying move.
Vivillon (Bug and Flying) is the serious opponent. It starts with Harden, then uses Infestation, which traps and damages your Pokémon for several turns in a row. Hit it with a Fire, Rock, Flying or Electric move.
With Fennekin, it’s easy: Ember does heavy damage to both. With Froakie, Bubble hits Vivillon normally: rely on speed. With Chespin, avoid Grass-type moves and catch a Pansear in the forest, or a Pikachu.
Viola gives you the Bug Badge and TM83 Infestation, the new Bug-type move that traps the opponent.
📰Alexa and the Exp. Share
On your way out, find Alexa, Viola’s sister, in front of the exit to Route 4. She finally introduces herself: a journalist in Lumiose City, she gives you the Exp. Share. Turned on from the Bag, it gives experience to your whole team, even Pokémon that don’t battle.
