A road buried under snowdrifts that can only be crossed on Mamoswine’s back. Then Anistar City, the Strasbourg of Kalos, and its immense three-thousand-year-old sundial. This is where you discover the legend of Kalos… and the true face of Lysandre.

🦣Route 17, Mamoswine Road

The snow is too thick to walk through: the Ace Trainer’s Mamoswine from Frost Cavern, grateful for the Abomasnow you saved, carries you through the snowdrifts and smashes the rocks blocking the way with its tusks. On the way, your rival writes to you: they are waiting for you in front of the Anistar Gym.

  • In the far north, after two rocks to break: the Icicle Plate and a hidden Timer Ball.
  • In the far south, after two more rocks: a Calcium.
  • Just before the exit to Anistar City: a Rare Candy at the end of a dead end.

🌞Anistar City and the legend of Kalos

When you arrive, Sina gives you 10 Repeat Balls and takes you to see a specialist in legendary Pokémon: you discover the legend of Kalos and of Xerneas, the Pokémon that gives life, or of Yveltal, the one that takes it away, depending on your version.

To the northwest, the sundial, a giant mineral that appeared three thousand years ago, recalls the astronomical clock of Strasbourg Cathedral. Between 8 and 9 p.m., a ray of sunlight passes through it and its rings start to move. Remember it: it will play a role after the Pokémon League.

  • The Hex Maniac at the Pokémon Center gives a different TM depending on the time: TM32 Double Team from 4 a.m. to 11 a.m., TM35 Flamethrower from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., TM77 Psych Up from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and TM90 Substitute from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. Come back for each time slot to get all four.
  • The house to the right of the Shop: a Psychic gives you TM10 Hidden Power.
  • The Pokémon Center: the O-Power expert gives you an Exp. Point O-Power, which increases the experience you gain.
  • In front of the Center, Sue Veunyre, a Furisode Girl, brings back a memory of one of your Pokémon.

✨Olympia’s celestial Gym

The Gym first looks like a simple little house. Step onto the mark in the center: the walls disappear and reveal a spherical maze under a starry sky, filled with comets and constellations. Three levels of paths are layered there, blue at the top, green in the middle and purple in the center, linked by teleport points. Olympia is waiting for you at the very bottom, in the center. Only the Psychic Lionel is unavoidable.

Our strategy

Sigilyph (level 44, Psychic and Flying) sets up Light Screen and protects itself: Electric, Ice, Rock, Ghost and Dark hit it hard.
Slowking (level 45, Water and Psychic) raises its stats with Calm Mind and puts you to sleep with Yawn. Grass, Electric, Bug, Ghost and Dark can take it down.
Meowstic (level 48) is her trump card: it often opens with Fake Out, which makes you hesitate, then powers up with Calm Mind. Take it down quickly with a Dark or Ghost attack.

Olympia gives you the Psychic Badge and TM04 Calm Mind.

Next step: the Lysandre Labs.
