Our strategy

Meowstic and Absol at level 35, then its starter Pokémon, now fully evolved, at level 37.
Delphox (Fire and Psychic) is weak to Water, Ground, Rock, Ghost and Dark. Greninja (Water and Dark) is weak to Grass, Electric, Bug, Fighting and Fairy. Chesnaught (Grass and Fighting) is four times weak to Flying, and also weak to Fire, Ice, Poison, Psychic and Fairy.

Shauna and Tierno arrive next, and the whole gang, except your rival, decides to visit the haunted house, to the northwest of the route. It is actually just the home of a man who tells a scary story: you can leave him a tip. Shauna, for her part, finds the tale disappointing.

  • TM06 Toxic is given to you by a Hex Maniac near Laverre City.
  • TM61 Will-O-Wisp is next to the Berry tree in the far northeast: cut the bush with HM01 Cut.
  • On the ground: a Rare Candy behind the swings, a Spell Tag south of the haunted house and a Damp Rock behind the Hex Maniac, by using Surf.

🍄Laverre City

The northernmost city in Kalos grows in the shade of giant mushrooms. In the center, the Gym shelters under the biggest tree, covered in mushrooms and adorned with a clock that shows thirteen hours.

  • Near the exit to Route 14, a boy watching the mushrooms gives you TM41 Torment.
  • The Pokémon Fan Club: a woman rates the affection of your first Pokémon. In front of the Fan Club, a Hex Maniac gives you Gengarite, Gengar’s Mega Stone.
  • Two Poké Dolls a day: a man near the exit to Route 15 gives you one if you show him a Pokémon under 30 cm, and a woman in front of the café gives another for a Pokémon at least 3 m tall.
  • The café charges admission depending on the seat you choose: each day, its customers present a Pokémon that you can register in your Pokédex.
  • Hidden items: a Leaf Stone in the big mushrooms near the café, an Ultra Ball near the “Do not use Surf” sign.

Our strategy

Mawile (level 38, Steel and Fairy) raises its Defense with Iron Defense. It is immune to Poison and Dragon: aim at it with Fire or Ground.
Mr. Mime (level 39, Psychic and Fairy) sets up Light Screen and Reflect to protect the team. Poison, Ghost and Steel hit it hard.
Sylveon (level 42, Fairy) is the heart of the team: Dazzling Gleam hits hard, and Charm makes your Attack drop. Favor a special Poison or Steel attack.

Valerie gives you the Fairy Badge and TM99 Dazzling Gleam. On your way out, Shauna and Trevor ask you to meet them at the Poké Ball Factory, north of the city.

Next step: the Poké Ball Factory.
