🌿Route 2, Avance Trail

Your first wild Pokémon is waiting in the second row of grass: a level 3 Pidgey. On this route, and this route alone, every catch succeeds. Further along, Serena or Calem catches a Bunnelby in front of you to show you how, then gives you 10 Poké Balls.

🌲Santalune Forest

The whole gang crosses the forest with you. Shauna comes along and heals your Pokémon every time you talk to her: take advantage of it to train your team without backtracking. She also gives you a Paralyze Heal.

The forest recalls Viridian Forest from Pokémon Red and Blue: all of its species are found here. The most sought-after is Pikachu, but the three elemental monkeys, Pansage, Pansear and Panpour, are also very good recruits to complement your starter Pokémon.

X

In Pokémon X, Weedle is more common than Caterpie, and Kakuna lives in the tall grass.

Y

In Pokémon Y, Caterpie is more common than Weedle, and Metapod lives in the tall grass.
