A standard playthrough of X and Y lasts about thirty hours. With the right choices, you can see the credits much sooner without skipping the story. Here are the route, team and settings to take the shortest path.
First rule: one strong team rather than six average Pokémon. One or two attackers far above the opponents’ level settle battles in a single hit, and every battle won in one turn saves time.
Second rule: do nothing optional. No Battle Chateau, no restaurants, no optional caves, and as few Trainers as possible, by dodging their line of sight.
