⚡Clemont

The Electric type is only weak to Ground. Gible, Dugtrio or Sandile are perfect counters, but beware: Emolga flies and is not weak to Ground.

Our strategy

Emolga (level 35, Electric and Flying) is immune to Ground. It strikes with Aerial Ace and retreats with Volt Switch: aim at it with Ice or Rock. Its Static ability can paralyze you on contact.
Magneton (level 35, Electric and Steel) is four times weak to Ground, and also weak to Fire and Fighting. With Sturdy, it always survives one hit when its HP is full.
Heliolisk (level 37, Electric and Normal) is the most dangerous, with Thunderbolt and Grass Knot to trap your Ground Pokémon. Its Dry Skin ability absorbs Water attacks but makes it more vulnerable to Fire. Fighting and Ground hit it hard.

Clemont gives you the Voltage Badge and TM24 Thunderbolt.

☕The Lysandre Café

Professor Sycamore calls you on the Holo Caster: join him at the Lysandre Café, near Magenta Plaza. A café dressed all in red, just like its owner. Sycamore and Lysandre talk about Mega Evolution there, then Lysandre launches into a long tirade about the history of Kalos and what he thinks of the world… before apologizing for getting carried away. He gives you a King’s Rock to make up for it.

Your rival then calls you: they are waiting for you on Route 14 for a rematch.

Next step: Route 14 and the Laverre Gym.
