You have just moved to Vaniville Town, a village of three houses in southern Kalos. Your mother’s Fletchling wakes you with a peck: your neighbor is waiting for you, and with them a whole group of friends who will share your adventure.

🏡Vaniville Town
In your room, change outfits in front of the mirror, then head downstairs. Two kids are waiting in the garden: your neighbor, Calem, if you play a girl, or your neighbor, Serena, if you play a boy, and Shauna. Professor Sycamore has chosen them, along with you and two other kids, for a special mission. Shauna leads you to the neighboring town.
The Vaniville Pathway, Route 1, is only a short path with no wild Pokémon or Trainers.
☕Aquacorde Town: three Pokémon on a terrace
Aquacorde Town, which recalls Nevers and its square on the banks of the Loire, is one of only two towns in Kalos without a Pokémon Center: a woman heals your Pokémon in the house at the top right. Your new friends are waiting at a table: Tierno, the dancer, and Trevor, the Pokédex enthusiast. After a lively debate about your nickname, Tierno introduces you to the three starter Pokémon entrusted to you by Professor Sycamore.

⚔️The first battle
As soon as you receive your Pokémon, Shauna challenges you to a battle. It is a practice battle: both of your Pokémon are level 5.

Her starter Pokémon is at a disadvantage against yours: use your type’s attack as soon as it is available, or simply chain basic attacks.
Trevor then gives you the Pokédex, and Tierno hands you a letter from the Professor for your mother.
📨Back home
Return to Vaniville Town and give the letter to your mother. She packs your bag: you receive the Town Map of Kalos, a Potion and the Holo Caster, a small device that displays holographic messages from your friends along with information. The family’s Rhyhorn says goodbye: the adventure begins.
