In Kalos, you do not set out alone: four friends your age share your adventure. Serena or Calem, your neighbour, is your true rival. Shauna, Tierno and Trevor challenge you less often, but always with a smile.
⚔️Serena or Calem
The character you did not choose becomes your rival. Their teams are identical, whether it is Serena or Calem. They always take the starter Pokémon with the type advantage over yours: Fennekin if you have Chespin, Froakie if you have Fennekin, Chespin if you have Froakie. Battles in bold are duels against them; the others are battles where they fight at your side.
