☕The secret passage in the Lysandre Café
At the Lysandre Café, the two waiters are actually Team Flare Grunts: they challenge you one after the other, with Scrafty then Liepard, at level 46. Once beaten, they reveal how to get in. Walk up to the shelf at the back of the café: it slides aside and reveals the access to the Labs.

Mienfoo (level 45) and Murkrow (level 45) open the battle. Mienfoo is weak to Flying, Psychic and Fairy; Murkrow, to Electric, Ice, Rock and Fairy.
Pyroar (level 47, Fire and Normal) hits hard with Fire Blast: Water, Ground, Rock and Fighting take it down.
Gyarados (level 49) is the sturdiest. Its Intimidate ability lowers your Attack: a special Electric attack, which it is four times weak to, knocks it out almost for sure.
Lysandre challenges you to find the Lift Key to join him further down. Sina and Dexio join you and give you 3 Revives.
🌀The first basement maze
The first basement level is a vast maze of teleporters and tiles that spin you off in the direction of the arrows. In the center, the elevator only works with the Key. Five rooms surround the maze: a dormitory to the west, a computer room, a library, a room where the stones from Route 10 are analyzed, and an office to the east.
The four Team Flare scientists guard these rooms, each with two Pokémon:
- Aliana: Mightyena and Druddigon. Fighting and Fairy for the first, Ice, Dragon and Fairy for the second.
- Mable: Manectric and Drapion. Ground hits both.
- Bryony: Liepard and Bisharp. Fighting hits both hard, and four times for Bisharp.
- Celosia: Houndoom and Weavile. Fighting and Rock hit both hard.
It is Celosia, in the office to the east, who gives you the Lift Key after her defeat. In the dormitory, a Grunt gives you TM12 Taunt.
⛓️AZ in his cell
On the second basement level, a long corridor leads to a cell. A huge man is locked up there: AZ, whom you met in town. Speaking of himself in the third person, he tells you the story of a king who, three thousand years ago, lost his Floette in war, built a machine to bring it back to life… and then turned it into a weapon. He begs you to stop Lysandre, who took the key to the ultimate weapon from him.

On the third basement level, Xerosic, the head of the Team Flare scientists, is waiting for you in front of the ultimate weapon’s controls.

Crobat (level 46, Poison and Flying) is very fast: Electric, Ice, Rock and Psychic hit it hard.
Malamar (level 48, Dark and Psychic) has the Contrary ability, which reverses its stat changes: Superpower strengthens it instead of weakening it. It is only weak to Bug, but four times over: a Bug attack, even a weak one, takes it down. Fairy also hits it hard.
Two enormous buttons are before you: a red one and a blue one. One activates the ultimate weapon, the other dooms it. It doesn’t matter which you choose: if you press the blue one, Xerosic activates the weapon remotely. On the screen, you see a gigantic crystal flower burst out of the ground in Geosenge Town.
