🗼The lighting of the Prism Tower
As you step through the gate from Route 13, you meet Shauna again, who leads you to Centrico Plaza: thanks to you, the Prism Tower lights up in front of the crowd. Shauna then urges you to challenge Clemont, the city’s Gym Leader, whose Gym occupies the tower.
🗺️Finding your way around Lumiose City
The city is one big circle. At the center are Centrico Plaza and the Prism Tower, like the Place de l’Étoile and its roundabout. Two ring boulevards surround it: South Boulevard to the south and North Boulevard to the north. Four avenues branch off from them, named after the seasons: Vernal and Estival in the south, Autumnal and Hibernal in the north. Between them, alleys link colorful plazas such as Magenta Plaza and Bleu Plaza.
- Taxis drop you right in front of a specific address for a few Poké Dollars. If you can’t pay, the driver challenges you to a battle.
- Gogoat Shuttles let you travel around the city on Gogoat’s back.
- The alleys are home to Trainers who appear at random and come back after a while: a good source of experience and money.
- Several Pokémon Centers are spread along the boulevards.
🛍️Shops and places to visit
- The Poké Ball Boutique, on Autumnal Avenue, sells all kinds of Poké Balls. It is the only shop in the series that sells Premier Balls individually.
- The Stone Emporium sells evolution stones.
- The fashion boutiques dress up your character. Some only open their doors once your style is high enough: it goes up when you shop, eat at restaurants or visit the museum.
- The Lumiose Museum is free. For 200 ₽, an audio guide comments on some of the paintings, including those depicting the Kalos Power Plant and the Poké Ball Factory.
- The Trainer Video Studio, near the Lab, lets you shoot a 10-second video to share.
- The Grand Hotel Richissime is the biggest hotel in Kalos. You will come back here after the Pokémon League.
🍽️The battle restaurants
In Lumiose City, you battle between courses. Each restaurant offers a menu of battles against its staff, to be won within a limited number of turns. The faster you are, the better the reward, and the mushrooms you are given sell for a lot.
- The one-star restaurant on South Boulevard: a Double Battle menu for 3,000 ₽, ideal for beginners. Reward: Tiny Mushrooms.
- The two-star restaurant on Autumnal Avenue: tougher battles, rewarded with Big Mushrooms.
- The three-star restaurant on Hibernal Avenue and Sushi High Roller, near Rouge Plaza, only accept customers after the Pokémon League.
Next step: the Lumiose Gym and the Lysandre Café.
