Twelve years after X and Y, Pokémon Legends: Z-A turned Lumiose City into a game of its own. You return to the city five years after the fall of Team Flare, with familiar faces and a Mega Evolution more present than ever. Here are the links between the two games, without spoiling the surprises of Z-A.

🏙️Lumiose City, five years later

After the events of X and Y, the city has lost some of its shine. Quasartico Inc. is in charge of a major urban redevelopment project, and many wild Pokémon are settling in the city, in dedicated zones. The districts, colorful plazas and Prism Tower from X and Y are still there, but transformed.

👥The familiar faces

AZ

The former king of Kalos, who found his Floette again at the end of X and Y, has settled in Lumiose City. He had Hotel Z built there and is launching the Z-A Royale tournament.

Celosia

The former Team Flare scientist now works for the city, as deputy director of the Pokémon Lab, in place of Professor Sycamore.

Emma

The little girl from the Looker investigations has taken over the Looker Bureau, and still wears the Booster Suit.

Lysandre Café has been abandoned, and a Neo Team Flare has moved in. Lysandre Labs can be visited again, run-down and overrun by wild Pokémon.

💎Mega Evolution takes center stage

Born in X and Y, Mega Evolution is at the heart of Z-A, with many new Mega Evolutions, including several Kalos Pokémon, and Mega Stones to discover all over the city. Zygarde, the legendary Pokémon that stayed in the shadow of Xerneas and Yveltal, finally finds a real role there.
